1. Getting started

  1. 1Go to the Whats On Tap website and tap Register (bottom of the Home screen or the login page).
  2. 2Enter your email and a password, then choose How will you use Whats On Tap? — Venue, Artist, or Here for the music (public). This choice tailors your dashboard, so pick the one that fits you.
  3. 3Enter the 6-digit code sent to your email to confirm your account.
  4. 4From Settings (bottom nav), pick up your subscription if you plan to list events. Founding members get free full access while the offer lasts.
  5. 5You can switch your account type any time from Settings.

Public accounts can browse, save favourites, and share — but cannot list events. To advertise gigs you must be a Venue or Artist with an active subscription.

2. For venues

As a venue you list live music, comedy, quizzes and more so nearby fans find you on the map.

List your first event

  1. 1Tap the + (Post) button in the bottom navigation.
  2. 2Fill in the event title, the performer/band name, date, start time and ticket price.
  3. 3Enter your venue address — the map pin is placed automatically. Drag if needed to fine-tune the location.
  4. 4Add a photo, your genre, and your venue's Instagram, Facebook and website so fans can follow you.
  5. 5Tap Save as draft to keep it private, or Publish to put it live on the map and calendar instantly.

Tip: use event templates

For recurring nights (weekly quiz, Sunday acoustic), save a template from the Post page. Next time, pick the template and just change the date — your venue details and links are pre-filled.

3. For artists

As an artist you build a public profile, show your availability, receive booking enquiries from venues, and list your own gigs.

Create your artist profile

  1. 1From your dashboard, open My artist profile.
  2. 2Add your band/artist name, bio, genre, and social links (Instagram, Facebook, website).
  3. 3Upload photos and videos to your media gallery so venues can see you perform.
  4. 4Toggle Published to appear in the public Artists directory.

Set your availability

Use the availability calendar to mark dates you're free to be booked. All future dates are available by default; any gigs you already have booked are shown as Booked.

Receive & answer booking enquiries

  1. 1Venues browsing your profile can send you a booking enquiry with a proposed date and details.
  2. 2Enquiries arrive in your Inbox (bottom nav). Open one to read the message and reply in the thread.
  3. 3Accept or decline the proposed date. Accepted dates update your availability automatically.

4. Managing your events

  1. 1Open My Events (bottom nav) to see Drafts, Active & upcoming, and Past events.
  2. 2Tap an event to Edit (change details) or Delete (remove it permanently).
  3. 3Publish a draft from the Drafts list with one tap — it goes live on the map and calendar straight away.
  4. 4An active subscription is required to publish and manage events. If yours lapses, drafts are kept until you renew.

5. Promoting your gigs

Create a promo poster

  1. 1From an event (or the Post page) open Promo poster.
  2. 2The poster is built from your event details and a QR code that links straight to the event page.
  3. 3Download the PNG image and print it, or share it on social media.
  4. 4You can also email the poster to yourself or your team from the same screen.

Sync your calendar

Venues can import an iCal feed (Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) from Settings so your existing gigs appear automatically — no double entry.

6. Help & troubleshooting

For common issues and fixes, visit the in-app Help & troubleshooting page.

Founding Members get free full access. If you joined early, your subscription may already be active — check Settings.
